Why has my accountant invited me to Taxy?
Your accountant is using Taxy to collect the information and documents needed to prepare your tax return.
Instead of sending long email lists or multiple follow-ups, Taxy organises these requests in one place so you can clearly see what information is required and respond when it suits you.
What’s the benefit for me?
Taxy makes it easier to view and respond to your accountant’s information requests compared to long emails and upload portals.
Requests are broken into small, manageable items you can complete in your own time. Your accountant can also see live progress, which means less chasing and fewer follow-up emails.
What do I need to do when I receive a request?
When you receive the invitation email, simply follow the link to access your request.
Once logged in, you’ll see a list of items your accountant needs from you. For each item you can upload a document or answer the question directly in Taxy.
How long will it take to send all my information?
Requests are broken into small, manageable items so you can work through them gradually.
Some responses may only take a few seconds, while others might involve uploading documents you don’t have to hand. Many people find it easier to complete requests over a few short sessions rather than trying to gather everything at once.
What if I can't answer something?
If you’ve been asked to provide a document you don’t have immediately to hand, you can leave that item and come back to it later.
You can also add a comment to the item if you’re unsure about something. Your accountant will respond in the same place, making it easier to keep track of what you still need to provide.
Is my information secure?
Yes. Taxy is designed to handle sensitive information more securely than email.
All data is encrypted, stored in Australia, and only accessible to authorised users within your accountant’s workspace.
